Just like this Eastern box turtle, whose habitat we are restoring with many of our nature preserves, we all need a bit of space. Because of COVID-19, that has become a real factor in planning activities, including outdoor adventures.
As we move toward summertime, here’s a friendly reminder: When you go out to a natural area, make sure you are practicing social distancing. We love when people explore our nature preserves—just please remember to be respectful of other visitors and maintain a distance of 6 feet between you and anyone not in your household. Be mindful when passing other hikers.
Note that if a parking area is full, the preserve has reached capacity, so please come back at another time. Our nature preserves can accommodate fewer visitors than many public natural areas. Consider visiting at less popular times to enjoy their quiet trails.
Please read our property visitation guidelines for more on visiting our nature presreves.
Thanks for helping us maintain a safe environment in more ways than one!
