SUMMARY:A Reading of “Camping with Henry and Tom” in Oliver’s Woods
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a humorous reading of the play\, “Camping with Henry and Tom\,” by Mark St. Germain. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresident Harding longs to sneak away with his mistress. Industrialist Henry Ford dreams of the White House. Inventor Thomas Edison can’t quite believe he’s stranded in the woods with them both. \nJoin us for a play reading in the woods featuring three of the 20th century’s greatest minds. Based on a real-life camping trip shared by these historic figures\, this Off-Broadway comedy offers a wildly funny adventure with insights that still resonate today. \nFact: In 1921\, Henry Ford\, Thomas Edison\, and President Warren G. Harding took a camping trip together. Their stated goal: Escape civilization. Fiction: Imagine if one of them had an ulterior motive. With that as a starting point\, “Camping with Henry and Tom” uses a literal collision with nature to expose truths about each man\, his sense of himself\, and his vision of America. \nFor this one-time-only event\, CILTI and SiteLines Indy partner to present a reading of “Camping with Henry and Tom” featuring local actors in the best possible setting: the great outdoors. \nThe reading will take place at the discussion circle. In case of rain\, we will move indoors. \nAll Ages \nFree of Charge – RSVP Required \nWhat to Expect and Bring: \n\nThere will be bugs. Dress in protective clothing and apply your favorite bug deterent. Bug spray will be available.\nDiscussion circle provides cement seating\, so some people may want to bring a cushion.\nNo restroom availability.\n\nRegistration: \nPlease preregister so we know to expect you. \nDirections: \nOliver’s Woods is located at 8825 River Road Indianapolis\, Indiana. Please park in the parking lot adjacent to I-465 and meet staff on foot at the discussion circle behind the house.

SUMMARY:Nature Journal Workshop at Oliver's Woods
DESCRIPTION:A nature journal club outdoors on the White River\, sketching nature and learning about natural areas in the city. Offered by Central Indiana Land Trust & DaVinci Pursuit.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nJoin our first nature journal club\, where families\, teachers\, artists\, scientists\, and students can come together to explore nature through the art of journaling. During our fun and family-friendly experience you will develop a stronger connection with nature\, build community with new friends\, sketch outdoors\, learn about natural areas in the city\, share ideas\, and promote stewardship along the White River. While you don’t need any art or nature expertise\, you do need to bring a journal (sketchbook\, notebook\, etc.)\, drawing pencil\, colored pencils or crayons\, a small set of watercolors\, a paintbrush and a bottle for holding water. This is a collaboration between CILTI and DaVinci Pursuit. \nAll Ages \nFree – RSVP required – spaces are limited \nOnline Zoom event available. \nWhat to Expect and Bring \n\nFace mask/cover required.\nDress in long pants thick enough to stand up to thorns\, brush\, poison ivy\, ticks\, and mosquitos (unfortunately leggings aren’t very protective).\nWear closed-toed shoes that can stand up to mud and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.\n\nDirections \nOliver’s Woods is located at 8825 River Road Indianapolis\, Indiana. Please park in the parking lot adjacent to I-465 and meet staff on foot in front of the house. \nCOVID Safety Note \nSafety is our first priority\, and we continue to monitor pandemic conditions as we host events. If we need to alter or change our event schedule\, we will notify all registrants directly and post updates to social media. In an effort to keep everyone as safe as possible\, we are requiring masks and will make an effort to keep socially distanced on this outing. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate this together!
