DESCRIPTION:Help us clear debris and invasive plants in and around Carmel Creek at Oliver’s Woods. \n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\n\nAll Ages \nPlease RSVP so we know you’re coming. \nWhat to Expect and Bring \n\nBe prepared to get dirty and in some cases wet.\nWill pull invasive plants out by hand.\nDress in long pants thick enough to stand up to thorns\, brush\, poison ivy\, ticks\, and mosquitos (unfortunately leggings aren’t very protective).\nWear closed-toed shoes that can stand up to mud.\nWear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.\nDress for the weather as we will work rain or shine.\n\nRegistration: \nPlease preregister through Eventbrite so we know to expect you. \nDirections \nOliver’s Woods is located at 8825 River Road Indianapolis\, Indiana. Please park in the parking lot adjacent to I-465 and meet staff on foot in front of the house.

DESCRIPTION:Birding float down the White River with Friends of the White River \n\n\n\nAbout this event\nReserve your ticket here. \n\n\n\nJoin Central Indiana Land Trust\, Ornithologist Wes Homoya and Friends of the White River at Oliver’s Woods for a river float and a walk to see migrating birds. We’ll meet at the preserve to board the shuttle to our put-in point for a leisurely one- to two-hour float back to Oliver’s Woods. \nBack on land\, Wes will lead the group to look for fall migrants making their way south through our city. Migratory birds use this preserve’s riverside oasis as a pit stop to refuel for their journey. \nWe hope you will stick around after your walking tour to continue birding\, talking birds and conservation\, and supporting Indiana craft breweries and cideries. Black Acre Brewing\, Ash & Elm Cider and Indiana City Brewing have donated cider and beer for us to enjoy. Feel free to bring snacks! \nA portion of the proceeds from this event will go to Friends of White River and Indiana Audubon Society. \nWhat to Expect: \n\nMeet at Oliver’s Woods and we will travel together to the float starting point.\nWear closed-toed shoes that can stand up to getting wet.\nWear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.\n\nWhat to Bring: \n\nSunscreen\nSun hat\nWater bottle (no glass)\nBinoculars\nDry bag\nSnack\n\nRegistration: \nPlease preregister through Eventbrite as space is limited. \nDirections \nOliver’s Woods is located at 8825 River Road Indianapolis\, Indiana.
