Overview

White Owl Conservation Area lies along a one-third-mile stretch of the White River in a busy commercial district, a hidden sanctuary for wildlife in an urban area. Shorebirds, such as spotted sandpipers, frequent this preserve, along with mink and other semiaquatic species. An abundance of bees and butterflies visit flowers along the gravel bars in summer.

CILTI is proud to partner with the Indiana Wildlife Federation to certify this property through the Certified Sustainable Trails program. With this partnership, we are ensuring this property is a wildlife-friendly habitat.
