Land Donations
A gift that keeps giving
The Central Indiana Land Trust seeks donations of natural areas that include our conservation targets.
In addition to properties with one or more conservation targets, we will consider donations of working land, such as row-crop acreage. We also consider trade land, meaning properties donated with the intention of being sold to support the mission of land protection.
Before making a gift, a landowner should explore all available options and consult with his or her tax advisor. The Central Indiana Land Trust cannot give tax advice or legal counsel. Further information can be obtained through The Land Trust Alliance.
Why Work with CILTI?
By donating or selling land to the Central Indiana Land Trust, or by granting a conservation easement, you help create a future where nature has room to thrive. You’ll be helping to conserve Indiana’s forests, wetlands, prairie, and wildlife habitats. Once protection is in place, the land trust will provide management and/or monitoring to ensure that the lands remain in a natural state in perpetuity.
