Help us clear debris deposited in the Nonie Werbe Krauss Nature Preserve after the historic 2026 flooding. Nonie Werbe Krauss Nature Preserve took in an estimated 150 million gallons of floodwater during the recent flooding event. With that water came household debris and other items that have stayed on the preserve after the floodwaters receded, and need to be removed to preserve the plant and animal life.
What to Expect and Bring
- Be prepared to get dirty and in some cases wet.
- Puncture-resistant leather work gloves are encouraged.
- Dress in long pants.
- Wear closed-toed shoes and long socks that can stand up to mud and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Waterproof rubber boots are encouraged.
RSVP is required as we can only handle a certain number of volunteers. Once we reach that number, we will place RSVPs on a wait list.
The Fishers Parks Department has graciously provided Personal Protective Equipment for participants to ensure safety as there may be household chemical containers on site.
