Join our Stewardship Manager, Phillip Weldy and our Wallace F. Holladay Preserve Site Steward Patrick O’Brien to support the health and resilience of the preserve by helping with invasive plant removal. We will be removing invasive plant species like amur honeysuckle, autumn olive, and callery pear.
The hope moving forwards is to establish regular volunteer days at this preserve. Emails will be collected to help establish a volunteer base to ensure the success of the local habitat on the preserve.
What to Expect and Bring:
- Bring a water bottle.
- Volunteers will remove plants by hand.
- Dress in long pants thick enough to stand up to thorns, brush, poison ivy, ticks, and mosquitos. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Wear closed-toed shoes that can stand up to mud.
- Bring gardening or work gloves. If you have hand tools such as shears, loppers, or hand saws you are welcome to bring those.
- Public restrooms not available.
- In case of inclement weather, check email for updates.
Parking space is limited so we do ask that you RSVP.
