We are thrilled to announce that, as of last fall, CILTI has initiated a revolving fund for land protection in Central Indiana. CILTI’s Evergreen Fund for Nature lets us move swiftly when land projects arise. Rather than fundraise on a project-by-project basis, we can act more nimbly with this revolving fund keeping cash at the ready.
This lets us secure our best remaining natural areas while we still can, while giving willing landowners the opportunity to protect their land. Formerly, properties sometimes slipped through our fingers when landowners couldn’t wait. But this fund helps us protect more land faster, saving not only habitat for plants and animals, but beautiful places for Hoosiers to connect with nature—not to mention the potential for climate change mitigation.
