Sales and Bargain Sales
Protecting land by selling it to CILTI.
Central Indiana Land Trust actively purchases land for conservation.
Landowners who want to protect their land and receive money for it can sell property to the Central Indiana Land Trust. If they sell the land for below-fair-market value – in what is known as a “bargain sale” – they receive cash and may realize tax benefits for the donated portion.
Why Work with CILTI?
By donating or selling land to the Central Indiana Land Trust, or by granting a conservation easement, you help create a future where nature has room to thrive. You’ll be helping to conserve Indiana’s forests, wetlands, prairie, and wildlife habitats. Once protection is in place, the land trust will provide management and/or monitoring to ensure that the lands remain in a natural state in perpetuity.
